Which protein will fit you best?

Whether trying to lose weight or build muscle, protein supplements can be a convenient and easy way to increase your protein intake. However, it is not necessary to take supplements because you can find them in foods such as:

  • Eggs – are one of the best animal products for protein, nutrients, and healthful fats. Studies show eggs can help a person feel satisfied and full for longer, helping prevent overeating. In fact, 35% of the calories in an egg come from protein, and one large whole egg contains 6 grams.
  • Oats – have more protein than any other common grain – 17 grams per 100 grams.
  • Turkey breast – has practically the same amount of protein as chicken breast (29 grams protein per 100 grams of roasted turkey), but with fewer calories and dietary cholesterol.
  • Guava – is not often considered a protein source, but guava is the most protein-rich fruit. There are about 2.6 grams of protein in 100 grams of guava.
  • Pistachios – are a great protein-filled snack, with 20 grams of protein per 100 grams.

But if you still want to try a protein supplement, these are the ones I have tried and my experience with each one.

  • The first one I bought was from Sascha Fitness. The flavour is delicious, but if you want to increase muscle mass, you take two servings per day, which became too much, and I got bored of the flavour. I tried to prepare it in different recipes and even made protein popsicles with it, but still, the taste of the protein was too strong.
  • Birdman – The flavour is okay, but the texture was my problem; it was gooey, but it is a great vegan option.
  • ProSource – I loved this one, it was easy to drink it, nice texture, great flavour, but it only had 15gr per scoop it if we compared to others this one did not have too much protein.
  • Vega – this one is my favourite one, especially the Berry flavour. I drink it almost every day, and it does not have this strong protein flavour; the fantastic texture is effortless to blend, and the sport one has 30gr of protein.
